Tip of the Month

Most of us are aware the we need to change our oil every 3 months or 3000 miles in most instances. What you might not be aware of is the fact that you need to change the "other oils" at certain intervals as well. What "other oils" you ask? Did you know that besides motor oil most vehicles have oils more commonly referred to as fluids? Transmission fluid, power steering fluid,

radiator fluid  (antifreeze), differential oil, transfer case oil and brake fluid that all need changed at intervals outlined in the recommended maintenance section of your owners manual.

Approved Check

From the brake pedal to hydraulic brake fluid, brake master cylinder to power brake booster, drum brakes to disc brakes and electronic anti-lock brake sensors, Hogan Muffler & Brake ASE Certified technicians know every part of your brake system inside and out. That's why we are a leader in Topeka, Kansas for brake service.

Regular brake inspections should be part of your vehicle's ongoing maintenance, helping to ensure its safety and reliability. We recommend that you have them inspected at least once a year or if you experience any of the following:

  • Continuously squealing or grinding brakes
  • Low or spongy brake pedal
  • Brake warning light that stays on
  • Hard brake pedal

Any time you notice these symptoms (or any others), it’s a good idea to have your brakes checked. Bring in your vehicle for an inspection, if our inspection reveals they do require repair, we will explain what's required, what’s optional and provide you with a written estimate before any work is done.  We also encourage you to use our Noise Verification Form to help determine what noises you are hearing.

Hogan Muffler & Brake is proud to announce we now have a state of the art on car brake lathe, the ProCut 9.2. What does this mean to you as a vehicle owner? This means that Hogan Muffler & Brake is now the only place in Topeka to offer “The Perfect Brake Job”. The perfect brake job starts with brake rotor resurfacing so precise that the rotor finish is within .001 (one thousandths of an inch) of perfectly straight. Next, our ASE certified technicians perform a 12 step process to prepare the rotors, calipers, caliper mounts, slide pins and backing plates for the new brake friction material. The friction material is a specially formulated brake pad set in which the outer pad is made from a material that is designed to be a low dusting material, so your front wheels don’t get dirty from brake dust while the inner pad is a more aggressive material for optimum braking performance. Stop by today and see what it truly means to have “The Perfect Brake Job” performed on your car or truck today.
